One person has died and two other people are in hospital following a crash in County Carlow.
The two-vehicle collision happened just before 6pm last evening on the N80 at Ballintrane.
The driver of a car, a woman aged in her thirties, was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel but passed away from her injuries.
Two men who were in the van involved were both airlifted from the scene to hospital where they’re being treated for injuries described as ‘serious’ with two helicopters attending the scene alongside paramedics, gardaí and fire crews.
The road was closed from Huntsman Cross, Fenagh to Kilnock Cross with diversions in place while an examination’s carried out by Forensic Collision Investigators.
The route has reopened this morning.
