Fine Gael’s putting forward at least three contenders for the General Election in the South East.
Sitting Kilkenny city councillor David Fitzgerald and county counterpart Michael Doyle from the Callan Thomastown local electoral area are on the ticket.
They’re joined by Catherine Callaghan from Carlow who lost out on a seat in the Tullow Municipal District in the local elections by a single vote.
A date for the country to go to the ballot box has still not yet been announced – while many say it’ll take place early next year, more believe it will happen in November.
Catherine Callaghan has been discussing her hopes with Brian Redmond on The KCLR Daily;
Cllr Michael Doyle had told KCLR News this morning that while his focus this year was on getting re-elected to the county council, he’s delighted to have been selected last night – on The KCLR Daily he had more to say;
Cllr David Fitzgerald is due on The KCLR Daily after 12noon today.
