He’s already posted on X – congratulating the men’s rugby Sevens – after last night’s wins over Japan and South Africa with scores of 40-5 and 10-5 respectively.
They face New Zealand next at 3:30pm today (Thursday).
Niall Comerford, whose father Philip’s from Callan in County Kilkenny, is part of the side while Carlow man John Farrell is their Performance Analyst.
Meanwhile Johnstown, Kilkenny native Orlaith Curran is the Head Athletic Performance Coach to the Irish Women’s Rugby Sevens crew who are in action on the 28th of July.
