Roadworks in Callan look set to continue for another two months.
They are taking place to upgrade the junction at the crossroads in the town to enhance pedestrian facilities, including new crossings.

Concern for the impact on businesses along West Street, Mill Street and Bridge Street has been expressed by some in the area as it had been understood it wouldn’t take long for completion.
However a spokesperson for Kilkenny County Council has told KCLR News “The works are progressing and expected to last for another 6-8 weeks approximately.”
