Kilkenny had one of the highest wait times for ambulances responding to high priority calls

Kilkenny had the fourth highest wait times for ambulances in the first half of the year.

The Irish Examiner’s reporting that between January and June, it took over an hour for one to arrive to a high priority calls 500 times across the country.

While there were delays of up to four hours in some high risk cases that the National Ambulance Service had been tasked to.

Cork had the highest number of these instances, with 77 ambulances taking over an hour to arrive, followed by Wexford (41), Tipperary (35) and Kilkenny (34).

For the most serious calls, 19 minutes is the target response time set out by NAS.
