Conditional approval has been granted to a local developer for 19 new homes in Callan.
The two-storey, semi-detached and terraced houses are to be built at the back of Friary Walk, off the Kilkenny Road.
21 conditions have been attached by the county council which developer Andrew Glennon must adhere to. (See the planning application in full here).
But Sinn Féin Councillor Stephaine Doheny says it’s great more accommodation’s to be provided in the area, telling KCLR News; “We do need more houses for couples and families and all new houses are massively welcomed, we would like to see them being accessible for all, that being said it would be great to see the council get on board and purchase some of the houses”.
