The sun has set on the National Ploughing Championships and it’s been declared a success.
244,000 people turned out at Ratheniska in Co Laois, an increase of a fifth on last year’s attendance.
In the fields for Day Three, Aoife Hennessy from Kilkenny was second in the Macra 2 Furrow Conventional Plough Class.
While Carlow’s father and son Eamonn and Sean Tracey came fifth and fourth respectively in the Senior Conventional Test Match – it means the World Champ Eamonn will not be defending his title next year, Ireland will be represented instead by Martin Keogh of Wexford and Jer Coakely of Cork.
