In Division 1A of the Allianz Hurling League, Kilkenny’s next challenge comes in the form of Limerick, who secured a hard-fought victory over Tipperary, winning 30 points to 1-23 at the Gaelic Grounds.

Meanwhile, the Cats produced an impressive performance on Saturday night, overcoming Wexford with a 2-17 to 15-point victory. Fans looking for a deeper analysis of the game can tune into the latest episode of the KCLR Hurling Podcast, available now on all major podcast platforms.

This week’s episode features discussions from former Kilkenny hurlers Aidan “Taggy” Fogarty and Mickey Walsh, alongside Kilkenny manager Derek Lyng and Wexford boss Keith Rossiter.

A key topic of conversation was the optimal positioning of Kilkenny forward Eoin Cody.

Taggy Fogarty posed the question: “He’s obviously playing in the full-forward line and has been for the last five or six years. We’ve nearly seen more of him when he comes out the field. He can get around the park a bit. Do you think we could use Eoin out the field more, or should we keep him in the full-forward line?”

Mickey Walsh responded: “His best hurling at the moment is out the field. He looks like a player who would relish a bit of a change and a bit of freedom. And in the last three matches, his best work has actually come from deep.”

With Kilkenny’s next test coming against a strong Limerick side, it remains to be seen how Derek Lyng will deploy Cody.
