Chris Nolan was in fine form for the home side, racking up 1-4, as Carlow battled to maintain their unbeaten streak in the competition.
Manager’s Reaction
Speaking after the game, Carlow boss Tom Mullally acknowledged the challenge but remained optimistic about his team’s trajectory:
“So far, we have earned it against Offaly, we earned it against Waterford the last day. I think today has probably been the biggest test so far for us, because we have come off the back of a month without any competitive action. We are never going to be perfect today, and that’s the reality of it. But if we can add value to where we had shortcomings today, then that will put us in a good position going forward.”

Carlow’s next opponents, Dublin, suffered defeat at the hands of Waterford in Division 1B, while Offaly saw off Westmeath.
Meanwhile, in Division 1A, Clare edged Limerick in a nail-biting clash, winning 1-21 to 0-21 at the Gaelic Grounds.
