Three Kilkenny equine shows will benefit from almost €10,000 in funding.
Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) have announced nearly €600,000 in funding for 86 equestrian bodies, societies, and show organizations in the 2025 Breeding Grant Scheme.
Organisations in Ballyfoyle, Inistiogue and Cuffesgrange will all benefit from the funding.
Funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, the initiative supports breeding, production events, and training to help develop young horses.
Speaking to KCLR News Leas Ceann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann John McGuinness welcomed the funding.
“Its part and parcel of the promotion of horse breeding, events of that kind” he stated, “and I’m delighted that Ballyfoyle has been a beneficiary of these grants, €1,500, likewise Inistiogue, which is a wonderful show too, with €5,500”
Continuing, he noted that “There’s the Hughes horse show, which will receive €2,500, it helps them promote their enterprise, helps to promote horses and agricultural communities, and I welcome the grant.”
