A special screening of the Carlow documentary “The Undertaking” is taking place tonight at The Exchange in Carlow Town.
The film reflects a true story of a community coming together after an appeal from a local undertaker to attend the funeral of Mary Regan, a woman with no known next of kin.
Producer Richard Doyle, from Creative Productions, says the documentary aims to preserve a moment when Carlow showed its true character.
“This film honours an extraordinary act of compassion in Carlow, hundreds of people came to Mary’s funeral simply because it was the right thing to do, the Undertaking is our way of celebrating that kindness and ensuring that the story lives on in her memory.” said Richard.
The screening takes place from 7pm.
