A multi-vehicle accident which occurred southbound on the M9 near Leighlinbridge this afternoon has been cleared with both southbound lanes now fully re-opened.
The incident, which KCLR understands involved up to five vehicles, led to the southbound section of the M9 being closed as emergency services responded to the incident.
Some motorists who were behind the incident were stuck between Junctions 5 and 6 for up to an hour. Several ambulances, presumably ferrying those directly involved in the incident, left the scene at 3:45pm approximately. Details of the extent of any injuries sustained during the incident had not been disclosed at the time of posting.
Meanwhile, Kilkenny Gardai are appealing for information in relation to a burglary which occurred at a property on Meadow Way Drive on the Castlecomer Road on Friday afternoon last.
