Met Eireann has forecast another cold night ahead with temperatures expected to drop to as low as minus three degrees.
Weather advisories are in place for large parts of the country, with the ground expected to freeze from around 6pm. A status yellow temperature and ice warning is in place for both Leinster and Munster until 9 o’clock tomorrow morning.
According to Meteorologist Holly O’Neill: “From Tuesday, we’re going to start to see those temperatures recover slowly. Now the nights will still be cold and clearly if there are any clear patches, we’ll see (temperatures) get down to maybe minus one or minus two degrees but from Tuesday we’ll start to see more unsettled weather moving in from the west with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle and with that we’ll see the milder air (coming) in.”
