Children who received no gifts at Christmas will get another chance this month.
Barnardos has launched a donation drive in Carlow calling for unwanted presents which can be turned into vital support.
The charity aims to pass the gifts on to worthy under privileged children or sell them on for much needed funds.
Colette Miller, Barnardos Retail Shops Manager says that funds raised will stay local. “We all know the feeling of receiving Christmas presents that we don’t really want or need and end up stuck with them lying around the house.”
“Instead of leaving them clogging our cupboards, take them down to your local Barnardos shop in Carlow where we will happily find someone to put them to good use. The funds raised from these donations go directly towards our work in 56 service locations, where we help children when they need it most. Because childhood lasts a lifetime.”
