A US oil pipeline billionaire is reportedly Waterford Airport’s ‘mystery’ private investor.
The Irish Times reports Texan Kelcy Warren is behind the €30 million private investment into the regional airport last October.
Mr. Warren is the chief executive and chair of Energy Transfer, one of North America’s largest oil and gas pipeline companies.
Last year, The Wall Street Journal reported he donated around 20 million dollars to Donald Trump’s presidential campaigns between 2016 and 2024.
Mr Warren has existing ties to Ireland. He owns the Castletown House and Estate in Owning, Co Kilkenny, which he bought in 2019 for more than €12m.
