Gardaí make arrests over criminal damage to boys school in Castlecomer

Gardaí have confirmed they made four arrests for criminal damage to a property in Castlecomer

At approximately 5:45pm on Monday Gardaí were called to the Boys School in Castlecomer. The premises has been trashed with all windowns smashed and classrooms ransacked.

Earlier this morning local councillor Maurice Shortall called for those responsible to be brought to justice.

Four youth males aged in their teens were subsequently arrested in connection with this incident.

Three have since been released pending referral to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme and the fourth was released without charge.

Investigations are ongoing.
