Water restrictions imposed on a Kilkenny Carlow border community have been lifted.
Uisce Éireann’s cofirmed to KCLR News that the night time measure, which was introduced earlier this week for those served by the Graignamanagh Water Treatment Plant, is now no longer in play.
Production had been temporarily affected in recent days due to extensive rainfall but ongoing monitoring and tankering to support reservoir levels has seen normal supply stabilise.
Water Operations Manager with the utility, Shane Aylward, says; “We appreciate the patience shown by the community while we worked to manage the impact of recent heavy rainfall. The weather continues to be unpredictable, and further heavy rain is forecast.
“Our crews will continue to monitor the plant and the local network closely, and we will take every step possible to maintain a reliable supply for Graiguenamanagh and Tinnahinch.”
Customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann can expect direct communication during outages lasting more than four hours – to register for that visit water.ie.
