Construction on the new Saplings School at Fruithill in Graiguecullen is set to resume shortly after three years.
The project stalled in 2023 due to funding shortfalls with the pupils and staff currently teaching from prefabs in Killeshin.
Enabling works will start soon, with full construction scheduled to restart this summer.
The project has received a planning extension as well.
The new purpose-built school is designed to support children with severe autism and intellectual disabilities.
