One person continues to be questioned in relation to a major drugs haul in Carlow town.
Local Gardaí stopped and searched a car on Sunday and found in it suspected heroin and cannabis understood to be worth more than €136,000 – a subsequent search of a house saw them unveil 12kg of what’s believed to be heroin with a street value of €1.68million as well as cannabis herb and resin valued at €50,000 with Alprazolam and Zopiclone tablets.
All were seized while a woman aged in her thirties was arrested.
She remains detained at a garda station in the Eastern Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
