It’s set to be a chilly day with Carlow and Kilkenny preparing to be among those hit by an arctic blast.
Subzero temperatures have been forecast with Met Éireann warnings issued for snow and ice.
Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly outlines while there will be some sunshine, it will be bitterly cold, noting; “Showers this morning in the south will move away and that cold bitterly northerly flow will continue to move down the country, good sunny spells developing for most areas, it will be late afternoon before the south east manages to see the sunshine, feeling bitterly cold in that northerly wind”.
Meanwhile, there are flooding alerts out for Wicklow and Dublin this morning.
