Home cooks are being reminded to butter their pans and beat their batter gently, in order to have the best pancakes this Shrove Tuesday.
The cost of making them has risen by 35.2% in five years, according to data from the CSO.
The price of two litres of milk increased by 42% while two kilograms of flour went up 62cents and six eggs by 32% over the same period
