Breaking: Kilkenny County Council recommends refusal of wind farm in South Kilkenny

Kilkenny County Council has recommended refusing the proposed development of a wind farm in South Kilkenny citing insufficient information..

An applicaion submitted by Manogate Ltd for the development of a wind farm at Ballyfassy, just outside Mullinavat was the subject of a special meeting of council officials today at county hall which was open to the public.

Manogate wishes to develop 10 wind turbines up to 180 metres in height which it says would generate electricity for an estimated 50,000 homes annually.

No appeal can be made to An Comisiun Pleanala’s final decision on this proposal.
