A ‘Drive and Drop’ appeal is happening across Kilkenny and Carlow this weekend to support vulnerable mothers and newborns.
It’s been run by Ireland’s national baby bank, Community Connect who say there’s been a 44% surge in demand at its Kilkenny hub over the past year, with one in five children nationwide now living below the poverty line.
Volunteers are asking for donations of baby hygiene items, new clothing, and blankets to make baby boxes and hospital bags for families in need on Mother’s Day.
Locals can drop off items tomorrow (Sunday) at the Methodist Church on Athy Road in Carlow Town from 10am to 12pm, or at the Kilkenny Presbyterian Church on New Road from 11am to 1pm.
