An Taoiseach Mícheál Martin has appointed a Carlow/Kilkenny TD as Fianna Fáil spokesperson for Rural Affairs.
Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere will take on the role alongside his existing position as partys agricultutal spokesperson.
Deputy Cleere told KCLR News he’s looking forward to helping deliver commitments aimed at supporting and revitalising rural Ireland.
“Rural Ireland is the heart of our country, from our farms and small businesses to the communities that keep our towns and villages alive. My focus will be on supporting farmers, strengthening rural services and ensuring people can live and work in the communities they grew up in.”
