Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash which occurred outside Piltown yesterday evening.
Emergency services were still at the scene over three hours after the incident, which occurred at 5:20pm approximately in the Belline townland, a short distance from the L1038 crossroads between Piltown and Owning
A Garda spokesperson told KCLR News that members of the force and fellow emergency service colleagues attended the scene following a report about a two-vehicle road traffic collision.
“The female driver (aged in her 70s) and male passenger (aged in his 80s) of one of the cars were conveyed to University Hospital Waterford (UHW), for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time,” the spokesperson stated.
“Two female passengers of the second car (aged in their teens and 50s) were conveyed to UHW for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.”
The statement, which was issued last night, concluded: “Investigations are ongoing. No further information is available at this time.”
