Those living in a Carlow residential home are being “well cared for and well supported” by a dedicated staff that know them well.
This was one of the key observations in a report following an unannounced inspection by the Health Information and Quality Authority last November.
There were 47 residents at Hillview Nursing Home on the Tullow Road in Carlow when the inspection took place on the fifth of November last. Residents at the centre, described their activity co-ordinators as fantastic with one saying that Hillview was “the best nursing home around”.
Under nine separate areas, HIQA deemed the home to be substantially compliant under five out of nine of these while compliant on the remaining four.
While noting that actions required in relation to fire safety and the premises itself, the inspection said that residents in Hillview had a good quality of life and that their health, social care and spiritual needs were being met to a good standard
