A leading UK insurer says Carlow was chosen as its European base after an extensive search across multiple regions.
InsurEvo says the new hub will support the expansion of its travel insurance brand JustCover, including a contact centre and plans to enter new European markets.
The company says Carlow stood out due to its talent pool and links with South East Technological University.
Head of operations Linda Davis told KCLR News that initially 22 jobs will be created with a view to bring more to the region. “We do have aspirations to expand further, I see this being at least an eighty seat centre over the next two to three years.”
“We started out in Cardiff with a team of 17 three and a half years ago, we expanded out into an office building, we’re 150 now and at full capacity so I don’t see any reason for Ireland not to be the same.”
Linda spoke to KCLR News’ Martin Quilty at the launch.
This investment is expected to generate valuable operational support and IT opportunities for SETU graduates and the wider region.
Carlow native Aaron Brennan, who is a director with JustCover, spoke to KCLR’s Martin Quilty at this morning’s launch.
David Denieffe is Chief Operation Officer at South East Technological University and he told KCLR News’s Martin Quilty that the job are great for the region.
