Petrol and diesel should be a little cheaper at pumps in the coming days.
The Dáil voted last night to approve excise duty cuts in a bid to tackle the rising fuel costs.
But you may not see the reductions straight away with consumer groups warning it could take time before the drop’s reflected on forecourts as retailers can sell their older, more expensive stock at the former price.
Tánaiste Simon Harris says the cuts will be effective for all; “We know the pressure that people are feeling right now, people are genuinely worried about the impact this conflict is having on their energy costs and what is facing them in the weeks and months ahead”.
