Farmers in Carlow and Kilkenny seek greater transparency regarding pricing of milk & dairy products

Calls are growing for greater transparency in the pricing of milk and dairy products.

President of the ICMSA and Kilkenny man Denis Drennan says while yesterday’s supermarket price cuts are welcome for consumers, they don’t reflect the reality facing farmers.

He says milk prices have fallen sharply, while costs for fuel, fertiliser and energy continue to surge and is urging regulators to examine the full supply chain to show who is making what from farm to shelf;
