Three people have been arrested today in connection with the murder of a man in county Laois seven years ago.
Tipperary native William Delaney, who’d been living in Portlaoise, went missing on the 30th of January 2019 after leaving the General Hospital in the town there with the last sighting of him that afternoon in Monasterevin, county Kildare.
He was officially reported missing on the 6th of March, 2019 and the following June Gardaí received information that he’d been killed and buried in county Laois.
Three people had been arrested last November.
This morning three others, women aged in their twenties and thirties with a man aged in his thirties, were picked up by Gardaí and have been detained at Garda stations in the Midland and south Western regions.
Investigations are ongoing and Gardaí believe somebody holds the key to what happened – they’ve reiterated their appeal for information and those who can help are asked to contact Portlaoise station on 057 8674100, Garda Confidential Line: 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
