A novel gardening competition is to be held in Piltown and its surrounding areas to mark 200 years of the Iverk Show – Ireland’s oldest agricultural show – which takes place this year on August 22nd.
‘Blooming in Piltown’ is seeking entries from garden owners and housing developments of all shapes and scales, along with the locality’s primary schools for this special event which will celebrate two centuries of community, creativity and growth in the Barony.
It’s being run in association with Keep Piltown Tidy, a group which has made great strides in recent years to beautify and enhance the South Kilkenny village.
KCLR News visited Piltown where we spoke to Mauney Doyle and Mary Ryan, two of the driving forces behind this special competition.
