Commuters in South Kilkenny and Carlow can breath a sigh of relief as a vital bus link to the capital appears to have been thrown a lifeline.
Local TD Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere reiterated this weekend that the National Transport Authority is recommending the Waterford to Dublin Route 4 be saved under a Public Service Obligation.
This means it would be saved from cancellation by making it a government-funded service.
The move comes after a wave of local concern and while the exact details of the new subsidised schedule are still being finalised.
