A major new housing development for Kilkenny City has been given the green light.
Planning permission has been granted for a 24-unit apartment development on O’Loughlin Road.
The project involves the demolition of an existing warehouse and outbuildings to make way for a three-storey residential block.
Once completed, it will consist of 12 one-bed and 12 two-bed apartments, along with bicycle parking and a car park at ground level.
This follows a previously unsuccessful attempt to develop the site, which was refused by An Bord Pleanála in 2024.
The current approved plans were revised to ensure the frontage on O’Loughlin Road remains unaffected.
