Carlow Mayor Paul Doogue has been elected as the new National President of the Cairn Community Games.
The election took place at the organisation’s 55th Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was held at the Bloomfield House Hotel in Mullingar.
Doogue, who previously served as the Deputy President of the national body, was nominated by his home county of Carlow.
He won the presidency following a vote against Donegal contender Tony McCarry, succeeding the outgoing National President, Gerry McGuinness.
