Civic power and authority of Defence Forces to be celebrated in Kilkenny

The civic power and authority that the Defence Forces have provided locally will be celebrated today.

Cathaoirleach of the county council, former soldier Cllr Joe Malone, is to host a Reception for serving troops at James Stephens Barracks in Kilkenny city.

Through formal presentations, speeches and informal chats the work members of the army do and have done over the decades will be marked.
