Senator Malcolm Noonan raises disused part of Kilkenny city train station, its lift shaft and more with Irish Rail

An update to part of Kilkenny city’s train station and its idle lift as well as the need for more carriages were among the topics raised with Irish Rail by a locally based Senator.

The Green Party’s Malcolm Noonan met with officials yesterday and says he had a ‘positive’ discussion with them.

However, he says bringing the footprint of the station back into its own site requires significant investment due to conservation issues around steel and ironworks there.
