Rising costs force long standing Carlow business to shut

A family-run business in Carlow is closing its doors after a decade in the town.

Owner of Cibo Café Ricardo Tavolieri says rising food, energy, wage and rent costs have made it increasingly difficult to keep going.

He says the decision to close was difficult, but continuing would have put his own financial future at risk.

Mr Tavolieri says the business had become a real community hub, with generations of customers coming through the doors.

He says he’s grateful to his staff, customers and everyone who supported the business over the years.
