€445,000 in potential fines has been lost due to issues with two static speed cameras, one of which is in south Kilkenny.
More than 2,700 drivers here and in Mayo avoided paying out and penalty points due to defects according to the Comptroller and Auditor General.
€146,000 was lost locally after a challenge arose when the camera was identified as being on the N25 at Ballynamona, Mullinavat – however that town is not served by the route with the camera actually at Ballynamona, Glenmore.
