Drive-through restaurant plans rejected for Castlecomer Road

Plans for a new drive-through fast food restaurant and retail unit on Kilkenny’s Castlecomer Road have been refused.

The proposal would have included a restaurant, outdoor seating and changes to the existing car park at the IMC Cinema complex.

However, planners say there wasn’t enough evidence that queues could be managed without blocking the car park entrance or spilling onto the public road.

Concerns were also raised over noise, fumes, lighting, the building’s design and space for cycling infrastructure.
