Carlow County Council has officially kicked off its extensive Climate Action Week.
It aims to showcase more than 40 community events and highlight major green milestones, including a solar-powered overhaul at the local hurling club.
The county is also making global waves with its fire service introducing emergency response vehicles powered by hydrotreated vegetable oil.
Janette O’Brien, who is the Climate Action Coordinator with Carlow County Council, says there’s tons happening.
“For Climate Action period or week as we’re calling it. Again, go onto Carlow County Council’s website. You’ll find our, onto the page, you’ll find all of the brochures, what’s happening. We have over 42 events happening over the 12 days. Um, or again drop us an email. We have brochures in the library. You know, we’d ask people to come out, get involved, learn something new, and do a little bit for climate change.”
