Over €70,000 in capital funding has been announced for six youth services across Carlow and Kilkenny.
Ossory Youth secured the largest share, with just under €45,000 allocated to their regional facilities.
The cash injection will directly benefit branches in Kilkenny City, Graiguenamanagh, Callan, Goresbridge, Urlingford, and Johnstown.
Patrick Bookle, Youth Worker and Team Leader at Ossory Youth, says they are delighted with the funding, which will be used for vital building refurbishments and new equipment.
“It’s fantastic for us. We have, standardly, 300 or so young people coming through Desert Hall, which is here in the city, every week. We have two venues in Urlingford and Johnstown, and obviously I mentioned Callan, Graiguenamanagh, and Goresbridge. We want to make sure that if they walk into either, or any of those venues, that they can see that we are supporting them in every way we can.” said Patrick.
