Loreto extension officially opens

The new extension on Loreto secondary school in Kilkenny city was declared officially open this lunchtime.

A ceremony was held at 12.30 this afternoon as the new ‘Mary Ward Building was opened officially.

Bishop of Ossory Seamus Freeman will bless the new building while the Province leader of the Loreto order Sr Noelle Corscadden will perform the opening.

The project wasnt without its difficulties – the contractor appoined to carry out the building work went into liquidation in October 2012 delaying the project by some time.

But after nearly 3 years of work Principal Colm Keher says they are delighted with the finished building.
