Kilkenny families struggle to move up or down the property ladder

A local auctioneer says the housing situation in Kilkenny is too rigid and needs more fluidity.

He says that moving up and down sizing are proving to be a problem for many families.

This issue arises as rents and local property prices have increased in recent surveys

The city has been identified in a national survey as one area that will need 150 houses a year for the next 5 years.

But Michael Boyd says its worse than that claiming 500 houses are already needed.
