Medical cards are set to dominate proceedings at a meeting of the Public accounts Committee this morning.
Director General of the HSE Tony O’Brien and Dr Ambrose O’ Loughlin the Secretary General of the Department of Health are both due to answer questions on the number of discretionary cards that are being returned to people.
Details of the HSE’s current financial situation, along with ways to deal with the budget deficit will also be up for discussion.
Chairman of the Committee, Carlow-Kilkenny Fianna Fail TD John McGuinness, says many questions need answering.
