Residents of St Columba’s Hospital in Thomastown will have to use the Freedom of information act to get records about adults and children who were there.
The HSE has revealed to KCLR that they have the records for the old work house but that you’ll have to go that avenue to get them.
It comes as the government confirmed this week that a full inquiry will take place to examine all aspects of the running of the homes all over the country.
Last weekend, a number of deaths were uncovered at one such home in Tuam County Galway, and a nearby grave where it’s thought hundreds of children could be buried.
