Kilkenny and Carlow celebrate national Bike week

Kilkenny is celebrating national Bike week with its own unique festival which gets underway today.

Ciclovia will take place over the next 2 Sundays – starting today-and its the first time the festival which started in Columbia 30 years ago will be celebrated in Ireland.

The initiative will see public spaces in the city turn car free for a few hours making the streets safer for cyclists, skate-boarders & pedestrians from 2 until 4pm.

Activities are also taking place in Carlow with riders finishing their Cork to Carlow cycle this afternoon.
