Impact Trade union will meet with councillors in Carlow & Kilkenny later to discuss plans to amalgamate our library services.
The group which represents library staff in the two counties says no benefit analysis has been carried out and the plans would result in a loss of local expertise in the area.
Separate meetings will be held this evening in Langton’s and in the Seven Oaks to discuss the matter.
IMPACT’s Assistant General Secretary told KCLR News that no answers have been forthcoming from the Department on why the amalgamation should go ahead.
