Carlows hurlers heartbreak as they bow out of League with last minute loss

Carlow’s dream of reaching the Allianz national hurling league Div 2 A final ended in Cusack Park Mullingar yesterday with Westmeath snatching victory with the last puck of the ball.

Carlow led by 1-7 to 0-6 at the break and were five points clear coming in to the closing minutes. Westmeath rallied scoring 1-3 without reply as they booked their tickets for the final.

Final Score – Westmeath 1-14,Carlow 1-13

Kerry beat London in Tralee so Kerry and Westmeath will contest the Div 2 A final on April 4^th

It’s also ironic that Carlow’s next game is in the Leinster championship Round Robin against Westmeath in Mullingar on May 3rd
