The Ellen DeGeneres Show is amongst the front runners for this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards – with 10 nominations in the big categories.
The programme is up for best talk show, writing and directing.
The big hitters are General Hospital (28 nominations), The Young and the Restless (25), The Bold and the Beautiful (19), Days of Our Lives (16) and Sesame Street (10). Interestingly, Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and YouTube also have productions in the running.
The Daytime Emmy Awards recognise outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. during the 2014 calendar year.
The awards were keen to spread the nominees with an incredible 55 shows getting some sort of mention. Winners won’t be known until the live show on 26 April.
