Carlow introduced Kevin McDonald at half time and like a man inspired Kevin shot eight points from all angles from placed balls. Aryton Gleesons goal five minutes in to the last period levelled matters for a fourth time and it spurred on the visitors from there to the end.

Kevin McDonald restored the lead to Carlow ten minutes in to the last half, a lead which they never lost. This was a great team display powerful defending from all the backs and Jack Barron in goal, Diarmuid Byrne at midfield gave a great display along with Conor Fenlon and all the forwards were livewires as well as the subs that came on.
